Our Training program offers students the opportunity to progress and increase skills depending on their interest level. We are committed to providing you with safe and responsible training that is also fun and family friendly. These classes are taught by skilled professionals for everyday people, and you will be treated both respectfully and with patience.

All classes must be paid for in advance.  Payments are non-refundable, however credit may be applied to other classes.  NO REFUNDS SHALL BE ISSUED WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF THE SCHEDULED CLASS DATE. Please verify your schedule, prior to enrolling in a class.

Basic Handgun Safety Class

4 hours - 1 night - $99

If you are considering the purchase of a handgun, or perhaps have one and are not yet confident in your gun handling skills, this class will provide you with the information and hands on experience to safely operate pistols. On the range, students learn the details of marksmanship and will fire both revolvers and semi-automatics in various calibers. All equipment is provided for this class. Children 13-17 years old are welcome to attend the Basic Handgun Safety Class with a parent or guardian. 

Classes are from 6-10pm on one of the following nights:

March 1st, 8th, 15th, or 22nd (Mondays).
April 5th, 12th, or 19th (Mondays).

Basic Handgun for Women, 4hours: March 29th or April 26th (Mondays).


Introductory Handgun

8 hours - 2 nights - $199

This course covers all the handgun safety, operation and marksmanship material from the Basic Class and expands into more detail. Handgun legalities are also covered in lecture regarding purchase, transportation and storage. Other topics include types of handguns and ammunition, i.e. styles, manufacturers, calibers and bullet types. On the range students will be able to fire revolvers, and semi-autos in various calibers. All equipment is provided for these classes, but if you own a handgun you are welcome to bring it with you. Children 13-17 years old are welcome to attend the Introductory Handgun Class with a parent or guardian.  

Classes are from 6-10pm on the following two days:

March 11th and 18th(Thursdays).
March 17th and 24th(Wednesdays).
April 7th and 14th (Wednesdays).
April 22nd and 29th (Thursdays).


Defensive Pistol: Level I

8 hours - 2 nights - $199

In this class you will learn the fundamentals of defensive pistol shooting, including: shooting drills, working from the holster, and clearing common firearm malfunctions. This class is a great next-step for those looking to build skills applicable to self-defense with a pistol and competitive pistol shooting.

Equipment: You will need to bring a semi-automatic pistol (9mm or larger), 3 magazines, a rigid belt holster, at least 350 rounds of copper-jacketed, brass-cased ammunition, 5 dummy rounds for your pistol, and eye and hearing protection.

Prerequisites: Students must have completed our Introductory Handgun class or its equivalent to qualify for this class.

Classes are from 6pm to 10pm on the following two days: March 3rd and 10th (Wednesday)

AR-15: The Basics

4 hours - 1 night - $99


Learn the basic skills necessary to sight in, shoot, and clean your rifle. Shooting stance, sight offset, natural point of aim, and ballistics information are included in this informative class. Bring your rifle in case with 100 rounds of ammunition to this essential class.

March 25th, 6PM -10PM (Thursday).


Utah Concealed Firearm Permit Class

Includes Fingerprinting, Photo, and Notary 
 
One day - 4 hours -
$149

Wade's is glad to make available this one-stop application process for the much coveted Utah Concealed Firearm Permit the first Saturday of every month. The cost includes the 4 hour class required by Utah B.C.I. and your stamped approval upon completion, the application, fingerprinting, passport style photo, notarized signature and postage to Utah's B.C. You will need to bring an additional check or money order for $65.25 to send to Utah B.C.I. for your application fee which is not covered by the class fee.

Home Defense

8 hours - 2 nights - $199

April 21st and April 28th, 6PM-10PM (Wednesdays).


Learn the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family in your home, within the framework provided by law.

  • Learn ethical and responsible use of defensive shooting including an overview of WA state law regarding use of non-lethal and lethal force.
  • Learn the proper mindset, ways to evaluate awareness, and mental and physical training for a potentially life-threatening confrontation.
  • Learn defensive marksmanship while being taught how to use a flash sight picture, how to use cover and concealment, how to properly shoot from behind cover and concealment, how to fire from a kneeling position, and close range point shooting.
  • You will be taught strategies and methods to enhance the safety of your home, strategies for responding to a potentially life-threatening encounter, dealing with the aftermath of a violent confrontation, and methods for safely storing a personal protection handgun.
  • We will identify the criteria for selecting a handgun and ammunition suited to your individual self-defense needs.
  • Learn how to practice your skills safely with and without ammunition.
  • Each student will need a handgun, two magazines or speed loaders, and a minimum of 100 rounds ammunition (150 if you can), Eye and hearing protection, kneepads (optional).

*We will use the NRA Personal Protection in the Home class outline. It is a prerequisite to this course that you have proof of shooting experience by possessing one of the following: a certificate of having completed either NRA Basic Pistol, NRA First Steps Pistol or it's equivalent, such as the pistol classes taught here at Wades, have an NRA pistol competitive shooting card, a military DD 214 with pistol qualification, or pass a Pre-Course assessment.


Marksmanship Skills

4 hours - 1 night - $99 

 This intermediate course is designed to help the shooter increase accuracy and cure bad habits! The shooter will notice distinct inprovement by the end of class. The focus is on the fundementals of marksmanship. This is an intermediate course.

Prerequisites: None

Equipment: A handgun secured in a case, personal or rental, 100 rounds of ammunition.

Next class: April 8, 6PM-10PM (Thursday).


Firearm Skill-Builder Course

4 hours - 1 night - $99 

This advanced class is meant for shooters who want to build their skill-sets with one-handed shooting, point shooting, elements of drawing from the holster, and developing their overall gun-handling skills. The goal is to build confidence and knowledge about your particular equipment, firearm, and how you shoot it.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Marksmanship Skills or Director's approval (minimum requirements) or Defensive Pistol or Home Defense (preferred).

Personally-Owned Equipment: Firearm, a holster for the firearms (strong-side carry only) and 300 rounds of ammunition.

Next classes: March 31st or April 15th.


Private Instruction

$90 per hour

Tailored to your individual needs is available upon request for pistol, rifle, and shotgun.
