With the new ruling regarding NFA items, specifically suppressors, a lot has happened in a very short time. How this ruling is affecting Washington is still developing. Due to the specific phrasing of the Washington State RCWs there is a disconnect between how the state requires background checks to be processed and the resources that the FBI NICS system allows us. As for now, we are still processing suppressors through Form 4s, as normal, unless we are given new legal clarification and/or the background check system is changed. Ideally, if the resources we are allotted and the legal side of things becomes more clear, we should be allowed to do suppressor sales with a same day background check and a 4473, but it may take a minute to get there. Please be patient, we’ll keep you posted. Please do not call for clarification on this process since we are still figuring this all out.
